Dark Arts RGS (“Ouija”)

Born June 7, 2017 was the black Rhinelander filly “Dark Arts” (aka Ouija) by Diamond Stud, out of imported Hanoverian mare, Fontana by Feiner Stern. With a pedigree full of Grand Prix stars, Diamond Stud (GOV) offers North American breeders a rich heritage of top performers and proven rideability. Equally impressive was his gentlemanly demeanor in the barn and with people. Diamond Stud successfully completed the 70 day test at Silver Creek Farm in 2010. Some of his score highlights were: (Test Director) Character “10”, Temperament “9.5”, Willingness to work “9”, Constitution “9”, Rideability “8.5”; (Judges scores) Movement – walk “8.5”, trot ” 8.50″, canter “8.75”. Diamond Stud sired a high percentage of premium foals; his oldest offspring have been started under saddle and they are displaying not only very good gaits but also very high rideability. As Diamond Stud recently passed away, we feel fortunate to be able to offer this quality daughter of his for sale.

The dam Fontana (Feiner Stern/Erbherzog) received exceptional scores at her Mare Performance Test in Germany. She was awarded 9s for walk and trot, 8 for canter, 8 and 9 for character and rideability, and 7s for her jumping (even as a dressage-bred mare). She was an excellent broodmare and consistently produced quality, rideable offspring, one of which is competing at Prix St George with an amateur. We have retained her superb 3 year old filly by Bugatti as a future show horse and breeding prospect. A testament to the rideability of Fontana’s offspring is the fact that a number of them are mounts in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police musical ride which requires amateur-friendly horses that are ridden in large public performances by novice adult RCMP officers.

Ouija is bold and full of personality, showing intelligence and curiosity. She has a lovely balanced canter and an uphill, cadenced trot with plenty of suspension. She is an excellent dressage prospect for the future, although her siblings’ versatility and rideability suggest that she may be a prospect for whatever discipline her rider chooses.  Ouija was sold in February 2018 to a close friend in Kingston, Ontario, who will provide an excellent home for her.

Dragunov RGS (“Dragon”)

On June 23, Francesca  (Federweisser/Weltrum) delivered an impressive big black colt by Dreamscape’s black Oldenburg stallion, Diamond Stud (http://www.dreamscapefarm.com/HorseDetail.aspx?ID=480) — a half-brother to our 2017 filly born 2 weeks earlier.  He is really well developed.  This is the 7th foal for Francesca — her first 3 for the RCMP and then 4 for us.  All the foals Fran has had for us are here on the farm — hard to let go of them…

Cairo wins the 1.1 m speed class!

Cairo (“Carpathia” – Chablis I Z / Acord II) had a great day June 17 at the Stratford-Fox Run Silver show at Wesley Clover Parks, including winning the 1.10 m speed class!  From Angel, his rider and trainer: “He’s come a long way and is so enjoyable to pilot around these courses – the jumps are already starting to feel small.”

2017 filly “Ouija” (aka Dark Arts) by Diamond Stud – born June 7

Welcome to the world, little girl! Fontana (“Mika” – Feiner Stern/Erbherzog) delviered a black filly by Dreamscape’s black Oldenburg stallion, Diamond Stud (http://www.dreamscapefarm.com/HorseDetail.aspx?ID=480).  We feel fortunate to have an offspring of this fantastic and popular stallion as he died unexpectedly several months ago.  This filly was quick to stand and nurse and is full of personality, like all of Mika’s foals!  She is a feisty little imp, running circles around her mom.
